Rev. Jimmy L. Gates Sr. is senior pastor of Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church and a community leader in Cleveland’s Mt. Pleasant neighborhood. Since 2014, he has launched and facilitated community programs including food pantries, youth employment opportunities, senior and after-school programs. Under his Rev. Gates' leadership, Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church has become home to over 50 community residents with nowhere to go during the winter. Rev. Gates also serves as executive director of the Mt. Pleasant Ministerial Alliance and executive assistant to United Pastors in Mission. He joined CHN’s Board in 2018. Rev. Gates is an inductee into the Martin Luther King Jr. College of Pastors and Laity at Morehouse College. He holds a master of divinity from Ashland Theological Seminary and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix.
