Are you worried about your housing finances? CHN may be able to help.
Through our Family Stability Initiative, our HUD-approved housing counselors will provide 1 on 1 support to help you stay in your home and regain financial stability. These services are free of charge through funding from HUD, United Way, Cuyahoga County and others.
If you are a renter in Cuyahoga County, we can help if you have suffered a hardship (e.g., loss of regular income or unexpected major expense), you are struggling to pay your housing expenses (e.g., rent, utilities, security deposit), and have a child (under 18 years old and/or up to 12th grade).
Please note: To be eligible for assistance, participation in housing counseling is required. In addition, applicants must demonstrate the ability to sustain their rental payments moving forward after CHN’s assistance is applied.

If you do not see the application available in the portal it means that you are either not eligible for the program or we have reached our capacity for this month. This program is currently closed and will reopen on Monday, May 4 at 8 a.m.
- CHN requires clients receiving assistance to participate in housing counseling. A housing counselor will be assigned to your case and will schedule a phone appointment with you to determine final eligibility, coordinate rental assistance payments with you and your landlord, and connect you with other resources.
Please note, applicants must show that they will be able to maintain ongoing rental payments after CHN’s support is applied. Financial assistance is available once every 24 months per household.
