Cheri Smith is a community development and banking professional with more than two decades of experience advancing initiatives that support affordable housing, economic opportunity, and community revitalization. As Senior Vice President and Director of Corporate Responsibility at S&T Bank, she leads the bank’s enterprise-wide Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) strategy, guiding investments, lending and service activities to strengthen low- and moderate-income communities. Throughout her career, Cheri has worked closely with community development organizations, government partners, and financial institutions to expand access to capital and resources for underserved communities.  Cheri has served on boards including Cleveland Tenants Organization, West Side Community House, and CREW Cleveland. She is currently a member of the JA North Central Ohio Board.

In addition to her professional leadership, Cheri is deeply committed to community service and civic engagement, regularly partnering with nonprofit organizations and community groups to promote financial inclusion, neighborhood investment, and opportunities for families and small businesses to thrive.  

Cheri holds a law degree and a master’s degree in business administration from Cleveland State University and a bachelor’s degree from Kent State University.
