New Granada Apartments

Offering affordable housing adjacent to the historic New Granada Theater in the heart of the Hill District of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

New Granada Square Apartments is a new development offering affordable housing for income-qualifying households. Forty apartments (24 one-bedroom and 16 two-bedroom) sit atop ground floor management offices and community space, as well as 5,500 square feet of commercial space. The commercial space provides opportunities for small local businesses to grow while also supporting the community.

The development targets local artists who are encouraged to develop their craft through onsite training and exhibits, as well as supportive services tailored to promote self-sustaining business development.

The project was funded primarily through Low Income Housing Tax Credits awarded from the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency. Other sources include funding from the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh, the Housing Authority of Pittsburgh, local grants and project-based rental subsidy.
