Are you being evicted from your rental property? Are you behind on rent? Are you worried about your future ability to pay because of an impending layoff, medical issues or other imminent crisis? CHN may be able to help!

Our HUD-approved housing counselors will help you stay in your home and regain financial stability. These services are free of charge through funding from HUD, United Way, Cuyahoga County and others.

If you are a renter in Cuyahoga County, we can help if you have suffered a hardship (e.g., loss of regular income or unexpected major expense), you are struggling to pay your housing expenses (e.g., rent, utilities, security deposit), and have a child (under 18 years old and/or up to 12th grade).

Follow these simple steps:

  1. Complete CHN's Eligibility Checker
Already have an account in the CHN Portal? Click here to log in.
    • Please Note: CHN'S Family Stability Initiative accepts a limited number of new applications. If you do not see the application available in the portal it means that you are either not eligible for the program or we have reached our capacity for this month. This program is currently closed and will reopen on July 7 at 8 a.m.
  2. If eligible, please complete the Housing Stability - Renter application in the portal (both the intake and the family stability application, when prompted).
  3. A housing counselor will be assigned to your case and will schedule a phone appointment with you to determine final eligibility, coordinate rental assistance payments with you and your landlord, and connect you with other resources.
