Erie Square Apartments is a project-based, Section 8 preservation project representing CHN’s commitment to preserve affordable housing for very low-income families.
Between 2006 and 2009, CHN rehabilitated the 89-unit complex into 269 sought-after Section 8 apartments which CHN now owns and manages. The complex offers affordable housing and on-site resident services to very low-income families, seniors and the disabled.
CHN undertook renovations in 2006 through the use of Low Income Housing Tax Credits and other public sector sources, turning three-bedroom apartments into two-bedroom units with dens and in-suite high speed Internet access. CHN made security and zero-tolerance of drug activity hallmarks of management, added on-site resident services coordinators and designed a computer labs for youth and adult programs.
Today, under CHN’s managements, Erie Square maintains a waiting list with a 97% or greater occupancy rate.
