Emerald Alliance XI is bringing an end to chronic homeless-ness in the heart of Brooklyn Centre, one of Cleveland’s historic districts.
The building provides 71 one-bedroom apartments for chronically homeless individuals, including eight ADA handicap accessible units and two units with accessible features for residents with hearing and vision impairments.
The site was chosen because of Brooklyn Centre’s access to one of the region’s main trauma centers (MetroHealth), local transportation, shopping centers, and community parks—including Brookside reservation and the Metroparks Zoo. Residents can take advantage of these community services while accessing the building’s on-site supportive services provided by Front-Line Services.
The building will meet Enterprise Green Communities© standards and feature an on-site computer lab, indoor bike storage and community room as well on-site property management services.
Emerald Alliance XI is a part of Housing First, a coalition of public and private organization’s whose mission is to establish the permanent supportive housing model in Cuyahoga County, Ohio and to end chronic homelessness in our community. The model is performing above expectations in Cleveland, with less than a 1% return to homelessness.
Key partners of Housing First include CHN as lead developer/owner, EDEN Inc. as property manager and co-owner, FrontLine Service as lead service provider, Enterprise Community Partners as coalition leader, Care Alliance as mobile health clinic provider and Enterprise Community Partners as coalition leader.
