Whether you’re behind on your mortgage, property taxes, or facing foreclosure, CHN Housing Partners can help. Our HUD-approved housing counselors offer free, personalized support to help you stay in your home and regain financial stability. Please note: You do not need to be in active foreclosure to receive assistance from CHN -- it's best to reach out early/before you've fallen behind.

Foreclosure Prevention
Is your home in foreclosure or are you being evicted from your rental property? Are you behind on your mortgage or property taxes? Are you worried about your future ability to pay because of an impending layoff, medical issues or other imminent crisis?
Our HUD-approved housing counselors will help you stay in your home and regain financial stability. These services are free of charge through funding from HUD, United Way, Cuyahoga County and others.
If you are a homeowner in Cuyahoga County, we can help.
- Complete CHN's Eligibility Checker.
- If eligible, complete the Homeownership Preservation application in the portal.
- A housing counselor will be assigned to your case and will schedule a phone appointment with you to talk through your foreclosure prevention options (e.g. loss mitigation and/or mortgage assistance, where available) and connect you with other resources.

Cuyahoga County Taxpayer Assistance Program
If you own a home in Cuyahoga County and are 70 or older, earn $70,000 or less, and have certified delinquent property taxes, you may qualify for one-time financial assistance of up to $10,000 to help cover:

Delinquent or current property taxes

Foreclosure-related court fees
-
Tax lien certificate resolution
Additional eligibility criteria apply.
Note: Assistance is first-come, first-served and only available once per household. You must also complete a housing counseling session to qualify.
