July 26, 2021 – On Friday, July 23 CHN Housing Partners (CHN) and Emerald Development & Economic Network, Inc. (EDEN) hosted Republic Services volunteers at Harper’s Pointe for a National Neighborhood Promise Day. Volunteers from Republic, CHN, and EDEN worked side-by-side to build a tool shed on site, plant a raised garden bed, and clean up the land adjacent to the complex.
Annually, Republic Services Charitable Foundation provides National Neighborhood Promise grants to select nonprofit organizations to directly support neighborhood revitalization projects and programs in local communities. In 2019, CHN and EDEN received a generous grant from the Foundation to support Harper’s Pointe, a permanent supportive housing (PSH) development and the eleventh and final PSH building in the Housing First Initiative.
Housing First is a convening of public and private organizations who have worked for the last decade to establish permanent supportive housing to end long-term homelessness in Cuyahoga County. Key partners of Housing First include CHN Housing Partners as lead developer/owner, EDEN as property manager and co-owner, FrontLine Service as service provider, and Sisters of Charity Foundation of Cleveland and Enterprise Community Partners as convening leaders.
Located in the heart of Cleveland’s Brooklyn Centre neighborhood, Harper’s Pointe provides 71 one-bedroom apartments for individuals experiencing long-term including eight ADA handicap accessible units and two units with accessible features for residents with hearing and vision impairments.
